In January 2025, Ce.S.I. started the AI4MAT experiment, as a sub-granted project of the European project AIRISE , to test and validate an AI-powered service for selecting advanced material types and configurations during the early stages of machine tool design, based on targeted performance. Trained on historical material application data and simulation results, the AI enables design engineers to predict optimal material solutions early in the process, reducing the number of subsequent FEA iterations and accelerating convergence toward a final product design.
