Ce.S.I., together with the DIH “Speedhub” has started the IPER experiment as sub-granted project of EU H2020 project DIH-WORLD
Objectives: The goal of this experiment is to save design time of machine tools by replacing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with a data-driven (AI-based) approach within the early stages of the virtual product development.
The experiment, as a sub-granted project of the EU H2020 DIH-WORLD project, aims to integrate digital technologies, such Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, within the design process of manufacturing equipment (in particular woodworking machines).
Approach: The AI-based (surrogate modelling) approach proposed in this experiment should predict the main structural performance of a machines tool, starting from its basic design features/parameters.
The IPER experiment has indirectly received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation action programme, via the DIH-WORLD Open Call #1 issued and executed under the DIH-WORLD project (Grant Agreement no. 952176).
