IPER Experiment

Ce.S.I., together with the DIH “Speedhub”, has carried out and successfully completed the IPER experiment as a sub-granted project of EU H2020 project DIH-WORLD.

The goal of this experiment is to save design time of machine tools by replacing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with a data-driven (AI-based) approach within the early stages of the virtual product development.

The AI-based (surrogate modelling) approach proposed in this experiment should predict the main structural performance of a machines tool, starting from its basic design features/parameters.

The experiment, as a sub-granted project of the EU H2020 DIH-WORLD project, aims to integrate digital technologies, such Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, within the design process of manufacturing equipment (in particular woodworking machines).

The IPER experiment has indirectly received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation action programme, via the DIH-WORLD Open Call #1 issued and executed under the DIH-WORLD project (Grant Agreement no. 952176).
